Assess the Jam Severity

Step 3. Evaluate how severely it is jammed.

By assessing the situation, you can choose the most appropriate method to resolve the issue.
If Only the Staple is Jammed
Step 1. Take a paperclip and insert it into the staple exit hole.

Step 2. Locate the stuck staple and push it out using the paperclip.

This may require some effort, but soon the stapler will be free.
If the Metal Part is Stuck Inside the Top
Step 1. If one part is stuck in another, follow these steps:

Step 2. Remove your fingers from the stapler.

Step 3. Insert the paperclip between the metal parts as much as possible.

Step 4. Using the paperclip as a lever, push down on the bottom part.

This should help unjam the stapler. If the problem persists, repeat the previous method.
If the Top Won't Lift and You Can't Load Staples
Step 1. If the top won't open, try the following method.

Step 2. Grip the plastic part firmly.

Step 3. Pull it up strongly.

Step 4. Repeat Step 2 until the stapler opens.

Step 5. If that doesn't work, use a metal letter opener as a lever to open the jammed part.

Step 6. You're done!

Using a Staple Remover
