Step 1. Group Cards by Set.
Group your cards by set. You may have already noticed that each card has a symbol (not always, as the very first base set in English did not have such symbols) in the bottom right corner of the image (on older sets) or in the bottom right corner of the card (on newer sets). Each set indicates the number of cards, and every card is numbered (for example, 5/62 means card number 5 out of 62). Keep an eye out! Some sets have 'secret rare cards' with numbers that exceed the stated numbering (for example, 63/62). Additionally, cards labeled as 'promos' or 'black star promos' are designated with a single number, without indicating the total number of cards in the set. Find out the release order of the sets (Base, Jungle, Fossil...) and then lay them out accordingly.
Step 2. Group Cards by Evolutions.
Group your cards by evolutions. Reserve a separate section in your binder for the basic Pokémon, then place its evolutions nearby. This way, if you want to move them, you won’t have any trouble with other cards. Plus, you'll know exactly where the Pokémon evolutions are – right behind the basic card.
Step 3. Organize by Pokedex Number (best for collectors rather than TCG players).
Organize by Pokedex number (this is the best option for those who are just collecting cards, not playing TCG). This can be a challenging task, as many EX series cards do not have such numbers. However, you can always look up the Pokémon's number online. It’s especially rewarding if you enjoy the process. It feels great to fill in the missing slots, as if you’ve “caught them all”, and it makes it easier to find a card when you know the Pokémon's number.
Step 4. Group by Type.
Group by type. Place all Grass-type Pokémon in one section, Fire-types in another, and so on.
Step 5. Organize Cards by Rarity or Preference - this makes it easier to find the card you need.

Step 6. Arrange Cards by HP or Alphabetically.
