Have you ever thought about how to bathe a turtle? This process does not involve fully submerging the turtle in water like you would with furry pets. Instead, you can gently clean the turtle's shell using a brush to remove dirt, algae, and other debris.

Step 1. Prepare a container with warm water.
Prepare a container filled with warm water in advance. You will need an old toothbrush that you no longer use. The head of an electric toothbrush also works well.
Step 2. Remove the turtle from its habitat and inspect the shell.
Step 3. Dip the brush in the warm water.
Step 4. Gently clean the dirty areas of the shell with the brush.
Carefully work on the dirty spots of the shell using the old toothbrush. If necessary, slightly dampen the shell with your hand and continue cleaning. Pay special attention to any cracks to remove algae. If your turtle's shell begins to peel, avoid forcibly removing the flakes; allow them to shed naturally.
Step 5. Once you’ve removed most of the algae, gently rinse the turtle and return it to a warm spot.
