Summer vacation is a special time. The days get longer, and carefree weeks without homework open up a world of exciting possibilities. To truly enjoy your summer break, it's important to make the most of every moment and engage in activities that bring you joy.
How to Spend Time at Home
Step 1. Don’t Waste Time Sleeping In.

Don’t let yourself sleep too late. While sometimes a long sleep is beneficial for recharging, don’t allow it to consume all your time. Plan interesting activities that will inspire you to get up in the mornings and make the most of each day. This could be reading, drawing, crafting, binge-watching your favorite shows, hanging out with friends, and much more.
- Engage in activities that stimulate your mind. For example, start learning a new language or pick up skills that aren’t covered in school.
- Try a new sport. Begin with theoretical knowledge, then practice, or find a club where you can train under the guidance of an experienced coach.
Step 2. Spend Time with Friends.

Hang out with your friends. Visit each other and do something fun—go for walks, chat, hit the beach, or visit a museum.
- Organize sleepovers at each other’s houses.
- Write a joint book, create a blog or website.
- Start a small business to earn some extra cash. For example, hold a garage sale, sell refreshing drinks on the street, or showcase your crafts online—these are great options for earning money together.
Step 3. Take Afternoon Naps.

A short daytime nap can help you stay energized and maintain mental clarity, as well as escape the heat during the hottest part of the day. It might give you the energy to walk late into the night!
Step 4. Listen to Fun Music, Play Games, and Just Relax at Home.

Listen to upbeat music, play games, and just unwind at home. Allow yourself to relax when you’re not busy with something interesting.
How to Spend Time Outside
Step 1. Meet Friends at Favorite Spots.

Spend time with friends at places you enjoy. For example, you can stop by a favorite café, local pool, shopping mall, or go for a picnic in the park.
Step 2. Visit a Local Water Park.

Go to a water park for fun and to cool off in the heat. Don’t forget to invite friends and, if you can, bring your younger siblings along.
Step 3. Make New Friends.

Meet new people. Visit places where you can safely socialize with peers, such as sports events, cafes, or gatherings like gaming meetups. Observe those around you to see who you might click with. Bring along old friends and meet new ones together!
- There are many places to meet new people, such as library events, concerts, or community celebrations (fairs, festivals, etc.).
Travel
Step 1. Travel with Family.

Traveling is a great way to spend part of your summer vacation. This can include short day trips or longer travels lasting several days, a week, or even more. Depending on your family’s budget, you can go camping, stay in hotels, or visit a resort.
- Be sure to bring enough food and water for snacks. You need to drink more than usual in the heat.
Step 2. Consider a Trip with Friends.

If you’re old enough to travel with friends and are ready to take a younger sibling along, this could be a great opportunity to spend time together. There should be at least one adult (over 18) for every two to three minors. It's best to travel somewhere not too far from home so you can return quickly if needed. Alternatively, you could visit relatives in the countryside or stay at a cottage by a lake or in the woods.
How to Stay Comfortable in Summer
Step 1. Wear the Right Clothes.

Choose appropriate summer clothing. It should be loose, comfortable, and lightweight to ensure warmth and comfort. Avoid tight and uncomfortable clothes; this is a time for maximum comfort. Cotton and other breathable fabrics will help you stay cool.
- Don’t forget to wear a hat and use sunscreen when you go out in the sun.
Step 2. Use Air Conditioning to Beat the Heat.

Air conditioning will help you stay cool. If you don’t have air conditioning, you can use a fan or, if possible, take a dip in a pool.
