Not sure what to wear or what time to show up at the party? Wondering how to start a conversation with that cute girl? We’re here to help!
Part 1
Step 1: Don’t Arrive Too Early.

Try not to arrive at the party too early. The optimal time is around 11:30 PM to midnight when the fun really begins. This way, you’ll give the impression that parties are your usual scene. Even if you’ve been looking forward to the event, it’s better to show up later to appear more confident.
Step 2: Choose a Comfortable Yet Stylish Outfit.

- Guys can opt for a polo shirt. Avoid clothing from Abercrombie, Hollister, American Eagle, and definitely steer clear of Aeropostale. If you don’t have a polo, check out a store and pick something similar. If you’re heading to a themed party, skip the shirt with the club logo.
- Girls can choose any outfit that matches the style of the party and isn’t overly revealing. Not everyone appreciates the advances of drunk college guys.
- The key is style. This applies to both men and women.
Step 3: Bring a Friend to the Party.

Come to the party with a friend. Even if you don’t run into anyone you know, having a buddy will keep you company and help you feel more at ease.
Step 4: Mingle with New People.

Make new acquaintances. Forget the advice from your parents about talking to strangers being a bad idea. People at parties are usually not too sober and are eager to chat. Be friendly and meet new people, even if it’s just bumping into someone in line for drinks. It’s totally normal at a party.
Step 5: Leave While the Atmosphere is Still Lively.

Leave the party while it’s still exciting. For instance, around 1:30 AM to 2 AM. If you’re genuinely having fun, you might want to stay longer. But don’t stretch it until 3 AM when there are only a few tired souls left at the party.
