If you have a bouquet that's started to wilt, don't despair! There are simple methods to help prolong their life by 24-72 hours.

Step 1. Remove the flowers from the water to access their stems.

Step 2. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut about 1 cm from the bottom of each flower stem.

When trimming the stems, remember that a small amount of sap is a good sign. It means your flowers will be able to cheer you up for more than 72 hours.

Step 3. Discard the old water from the vase.

Step 4. Prepare a new clean vase.

Step 5. Fill the vase three-quarters full with cold water.

Step 6. Add 3 teaspoons of sugar to the water.

Sugar will help your flowers "come back to life" and regain their strength.

Step 7. Gently place the flowers in the vase.

Step 8. Drop a few drops of water onto the center of each flower.

Step 9. If your flowers don't start to revive at least a little after 3 hours, add another teaspoon of sugar and a bit more water.
