Sepak Takraw is a thrilling sport particularly cherished in Southeast Asia, including countries like the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand. This sport resembles volleyball, but instead of using hands to hit the ball, players use their feet and heads. The ball used in the game is called a rattan ball, which can be made of plastic or straw.

Part 1

Step 1. The coin toss decides who starts.

Step 1

The first step is a coin toss. The captains of both teams choose one side of the coin, and the team whose captain correctly guesses the outcome gets the opportunity to serve first.

Step 2. Starting the game.

Step 2

The game begins with the serve from the designated team.

  • To serve, one player positions themselves in the right half-circle next to the net. They must toss the ball to a teammate standing in the back circle of the court, who then kicks the ball over the net.

Step 3. Hitting the ball only with feet and head.

Step 3

Players can only hit the ball with their feet and heads. If the ball falls to the ground within a team's territory, that team loses a point and the right to serve. The game continues until one team reaches 21 points. If both teams score 20 points, the game continues until one team reaches 25.

Step 4. The game consists of two sets.

Step 4

The match is played in two sets. After the first set, teams switch sides, and the right to serve goes to the losing team. Once one team wins both sets, a new game begins.

Step 5. The second set is played by the same rules.

Step 5

The second set is played just like the first. The team that wins both sets becomes the champion.
