Painting a Metal Bed Frame with a Spray Gun

- Sand down any areas with old paint residue and completely remove rust.

- Remove any peeling paint, but it’s not necessary to get rid of all the old paint.
Step 5. Ensure the Painting Area is Free from Old Paint and Rust Residue.

Step 6. Wipe the Frame with a Sticky Cloth to Remove Particles.

Place the parts on a stand or lean them against the wall for easier painting.
Step 9. Apply a Primer Coat Using a Spray Gun.
- Once one side dries, flip the parts and paint the other side.
- Use smooth, sweeping motions to avoid drips.
- Ensure the primer is completely dry before moving to the next step.
Step 10. Use the Spray Gun for the Main Paint Application on the Frame.
- Choose a rust-resistant paint designed for metal.
- To achieve even coverage, keep your movements smooth and wide.
- Wait for one side to dry before flipping the parts.
Step 11. Apply a Second Coat of Paint Following the Same Procedure.
Pay attention to corners and crevices to prevent paint from pooling and leaving unpainted areas.
Step 12. For a Perfectly Smooth Finish, Add a Third Coat After the Second Dries.
Step 13. Screw Bolts and Screws into a Cardboard Box, with Their Heads Sticking Out, and Paint Them with the Same Paint.
Wait for the painted bolts and screws to dry.
Step 14. Apply a Clear Coat on the Frame for Paint Protection.
Wait for the clear coat to dry completely.
Step 15. Assemble the Frame and Headboard.
Painting a Metal Bed Frame with a Brush
Step 1. Follow the Same Steps as in the Previous Method to Prepare the Frame.
Step 2. Use a Brush to Apply a Coat of Primer on the Bed.
Do not take too much paint and apply it with smooth strokes to avoid drips.
Step 3. Wait for the Primer to Dry and Flip the Piece.
Step 4. For the Main Coat, Use Acrylic or Oil-Based Paint for Metal.
Keep your movements consistent to avoid drips. Once one side dries, flip the parts and paint the other side.
